Don’t Ask Don’t Tell was finally voted on by the Senate, and the outcome was good! Finally, America’s service members will be able to be open and honest about who they are and who they love (pending our President’s signature, of course). Words can’t express how happy I am about this. Though I am neither gay nor a service member, I am grateful for all those men and women that are willing to fight to protect me every day even though they can’t talk about huge parts of their lives.
Thanks to all service members for all that you do and the sacrifices that you make every day. And thanks to all partners of service members that have remained in the shadows while this policy was in place – may you finally get the support and respect that you deserve!
